"The fishing was slow yesterday but today just feels right, tomorrow appears to be even better, and there should be solid winter fishing throughout the weekend." 850 CFS (vs 870 avg).

"This has been ideal for the early winter trout fishing on the Big Waters of the Au Sable and throughout the upper river." Try streamers and nymphs in the warmest part of the day. Due to mild weather, "There is a ton of open and, more importantly, accessible water right now." 900 CFS (which is avg).

"With the warm-up, fish have been pretty aggressive." Try streamers especially, and maybe nymphs. 1000 CFS (which is avg).

"Nymph fishing has been picking up...All branches of the river are in great shape right now and there's no snow or shelf-ice to worry about." 900 CFS (which is average).

"...while streamers are still producing well -- if not better than two weeks ago -- the nymph fishing is just so much fun." Fish are semi-"lockjawed". No crowds. 950 CFS (vs 1000 avg).

Streamers. "Black, black and olive, and black and tan were the colors." 950 CFS (which is avg), down from 1600 a week ago. Highs in the 40's, lows in the 20's and 30's.

"Larger trout are spread out and holding in some surprising spots". "The brown trout are very busy right now spawning but many are finished". Streamers are best bet. Snow is around. Flows spiked up to 1500 CFS (vs 900 avg), from 900 tuesday.

Great fall streamer conditions -- big browns. Fishing hot and cold. 1300 CFS and dropping (vs 900 avg), down from wednesday peak of 1700 CFS.

Below freezing most nights; cold showers forecast tuesday. 900 CFS (which is avg). No new reports, thus downgrade. Call ahead.

10/21 -- VERY GOOD

Streamers, BWO's. River very clear. Current rain should improve streamer fishing. Some spawning fish. Up to 1000 CFS (vs 900 avg), from 800 wednesday.

Streamers. Rising water will move the big boys. "This is not a big numbers time of the year but it is the time for those looking to chase trophy size browns with streamers." No closed season from mio to mckinnely and above mio pond. 800 CFS (vs 900 avg).
