"Yesterday was red hot around the Maupin area. At least the steelhead fishing was" -- swinging bigger flies. Trout: some BWO's, but getting sparser. 1350 CFS (vs 1180 avg) at Culver.

Steelhead: "Fishing is fair. We found 2-4 a day" -- or... "Fishing: Great...We were down in the Maupin area yesterday and hooked four and landed three." For trout: BWO's. 1000 CFS, down from 1300 Monday (vs 1100 avg).

"The fishing? It's not too shabby...this time of year...Fish were grabby, but not too aggressive. The fishing above Maupin will hold up through this month and into December." 1100 CFS (which is avg).

Lower river: "Fishing is still pretty good and should hold up well through November...If you're nymphing for your steelhead, plan on sorting through a lot of whities." 1200 CFS (vs 1100 avg).

Steelhead "steady but slow", average returns (less than past two years). Trout better: BWO dries, caddis pupa, wooly buggers. 1200-1250 CFS > a week (vs 1050 avg).

1200 CFS (vs 900 avg). No new reports, thus downgrade. Call ahead, could be great.
Trout: good on october caddis, closing 10/31 from pelton dam to the northern reservation boundary. Steelhead: crowded, hard work, fish along length of river, best above maupin. 1250 ~ a week, (vs 850 avg).

Lower river: trout "still good"; steelhead consistent, indicators > swinging. Nothing on upper river. 1200 CFS (vs 800 avg), up from 650 a week ago.

Trout: BWO's on cloudy days, caddis warmer days. Steelhead: not so hot. 750 CFS (vs 650 avg). Fluctuations between 620 and 900 in the last week.

Steelhead improving and/or "mediocre; fish now up to trout creek, "well distributed" in upper stretches. Trout: caddis, october caddis, BWO's, midges. Eddies. Mixed signals -- call ahead. Receding rapidly to 650 (vs 580 avg), down from 880 tuesday.

Sudden vertical jump from 630 to 700 (and climbing?) monday (vs 575 avg). No new reports. Call ahead.
Steelhead in entire lower river (100 miles). Closed above Crane. "Approaching prime time river wide." Trout: streamers, stones, october caddis. 590 CFS (vs 560 avg at culver).

"Fall steelheading is game on." Swung flies and eggs. Fish have moved above Maupin; more are downstream. For trout: caddis, BWO's, mahogany duns, october caddis, big stones. 570 CFS (which is avg). Raining.
