5/25 -- GOOD

"Definitely the star of the show for the past week. Expect good hatches and good fishing. Nymphing with indicators works, but the anglers fishing dry-dropper combo's have been into slightly more consistency (bendage of the fly rod) from the riffles to the pools." Kiene's board: "Friday evening was wild in terms of bugs."

5/18 -- VERY GOOD

"Good flow and color! ...the McCloud is fishing great. The dry fly fishing has been productive."

5/11 -- GOOD

5/6: "River conditions on the famous McCloud are excellent! The fishing has been good with the dry fly fishing being the highlight!"

5/4 -- GOOD

"Great conditions and equally good fishing. Springtime! This stream is dialed-in. I would go fish here. More details? Okay then… insect hatches are sparse, but a well placed Parachute Adams can drum up fighting fins. Streamers, Woolly buggers, crayfish patterns etc should add flavor to the sampler dish of pockets, pools, runs and riffles"

No new reports, thus downgrade. Nice weather continues unabated.

10/25 -- GOOD

October caddis (should intensify soon w/ cold nights), baetis, PMD', stim/dropper, streamers. Big browns -- see 26-30-incher on tedfay.com -- caught on a size 16 micromayfly. Low and clear.

BWO's, increasing october caddis ("looks like a good year for them"). More crowded == "The McCrowd" on weekends. Stimmie/dropper rigs. Big browns on nymphs.

PMD's, BWO's, caddis, october caddis, drakes. Dries and nymphs. Big browns with deep nymphs. Recent rainfall.
