Reports not very illuminating. Gorge: "Might be a nice retreat this weekend when it cools down up here, the gorge should be warmer." Upper river fair to good. Lower river poor due to high flows.
Upper above Benton's Crossing: "The fishing here has been good. Nymphing..." Upper river is brown; lower river high; gorge best.
Gorge excellent. Lower good: "The flows are now starting to come up a little over what they've been at the past few weeks, but still wadable. Try some big streamers and leech patterns." Upper is fair, muddy.

Same report as last week re: Gorge: "Excellent and nice and warm on cool sunny days this time of year." Lower river: "The “catching” has been pretty darn good most days, with the only drawback down in the OV being some persistent and nasty winds that have made casting and fishing dry flies difficult some days."

“I was fishing today on the lower Owens and it was just going off. I was in shorts under my waders and I was seeing 15 to 20 fish slurping bugs,” said Jaeger, who owns Eastern Sierra Guide Service.
