"Typically fishing begins to slow down on both the Upper and Lower O, however this fall it has done exactly the opposite. Both sections are fishing at their best right now." “The flows have crashed on the Lower Owens and the drift boating and wade fishing are excellent” -- 109 CFS.

Lower river improving since flows have continued dropping -- to 145 CFS as of Thursday night -- fish still adjusting. Gorge is still best -- excellent -- with upper section still a notch down from the gorge, but with some big browns averaging 20" coming up from Crowley.

Same ol' story: "excellent" in the gorge, 45 CFS; good in upper river; poor in lower river ("raging" agt 553 CFS). Rough weather ahead.
Closed 11/15 below monument (upper section). Gorge "great" -- baetis; upper "good" -- "Getting reports of some monsters hiding in the deep pools in the bends" -- streamers; lower "poor".

Excellent in gorge, fair in upper and lower river. Gorge: stimulators, humpies, small nymphs. Some spawning in upper river. Wintry weather -- snow thursday night and friday.
Adams, caddis, sj worms, midges, scuds, matukas. No info on fishing quality, thus downgrade.
Same situation: gorge best (excellent -- use stimulators, humpies, copper johns, princes), lower section worst (poor), upper in the middle (good -- dry caddis, adams, BWO's; various nymphs). Rating above is weighted average.

Same old: gorge is best (excellent) -- with stimulators & humpies; upper river good -- occasional big lake fish, dries early and late, nymphing in between. Lower river poor -- "flows raging at 590 CFS". Weighted average is 'good'.
Broken record. Best in gorge (hairy attractor patterns). Upper river -- some biggies coming up from crowley -- midges, BWO's, caddis. Lower -- flows high. "Best October weather I can recall in 20 years."

Gorge best -- still hairy attractors, small nymphs, regulated 45 CFS. Lower river "raging" at 607 CFS.
No new reports. rain and snow forecasted this week. Call ahead. Downgrade one notch due to uncertainity and whether.
Flows retreating in upper section, raging in lower section, 45 CFS and steady in gorge, where best fishing is found.
