"The Trinity River is about as low as you are going to see it." 290 CFS (vs 300 avg). "Until they see some higher flows it will remain a grind." "The steelhead of the Trinity are on the slow move, some basically giving up on waiting for rain and that's great news." Best in the afternoon.

"Steelhead fishing was good above Junction City." Eggs, copper johns, psycho princes. Crowds. Weather has been generally dry. "Low and clear" at 320 CFS (vs 300 avg).

"It's a grind." "There are currently one of the biggest runs of fish staging in the main stem in years." Lots of steelhead and salmon, but mixed results. Eggs best. Rain expected, which could help. Stable at 310 CFS (which is avg).

More salmon in system "than I have seen in ten years". Dry fly action (!) -- could continue through mid-November. "We should have good fishing on the Trinity for the next 3-4 weeks." Best swinging wet flies in low light. 300 CFS > a week (which is avg); 450 would be better.

Warm weather has slowed afternoon fishing. Copper johns, golden stones, PT's, eggs, etc. "...best early steelhead fishing on the Trinity River since the epic 2007 season" according to shasta trout (others not as generous). Semi-stale Kiene's discussion. 300 CFS > a week (which is avg).
